Lecture

Production of housing - processorientated context

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the processes and mechanisms of housing production. As part of the course, the participating students acquire extensive knowledge about the influence of urban housing policy, market interests, various financing and funding models, non-profit developers and profit-oriented real estate investors on the housing output and thus on the availability of affordable housing. The students are also introduced to alternative strategies of housing production in the form of participatory models, such as assemblies and housing cooperatives, which try to force the user's voice and to organize self-organized processes in housing production.
