Lorenzo Vicari

MSc. Arch. AAM
Univ.Ass.

Since 2022 he teaches at the Vienna Institute of Technology at the Research Unit of Housing and Design and at the Research Unit for Architecture Theory and Philosophy of Technics -where since 2021 he is pursuing his PhD upon the relationship between Architecture and Communication, through the optics of Translation-.

His fascinations and researches spin around the conviction that architecture is a discipline  founded on ideas and invariants, devoted to abstractly think about space(time) experience -at any scale- and to pragmatically act in the contemporary field through precision and inventiveness.

Graduated from Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio in 2018, he is former research assistant at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and he collaborated with office Baukunst in Brussels  and Lausanne between 2018 and 2021 and with Baracco+Wright Architects in Melbourne in 2016.

In 2020 he was appointed co-curator for the exhibition Performance and Performativity at BOZAR (Palais des Beaux-Arts) in Brussels.

He founded StudioNuvolari together with Kornel Lewicki in 2020. The office works in international competitions and with private commissions.

In 2022 StudioNuvolari was shortlisted for the under30 international architecture prize “Federico Maggia” with the pavilion built at Citta` dell’Arte - Fondazione Michelangelo Pistoletto.

StudioNuvolari has been published, among others, on Trans, Domus and Casabella.
